Can you recommend consumer friendly mixers for beginners?

Any of the DDJ's from Pioneer would work, such as the DDJ-SB or some of the less expensive Numark controllers. If you need a mixer for the two turntables, go with a cheap one, mixers are not a huge deal when using turntables. If you meant a mixer for CD players, just go with what is cheap.

That depends on how you want to be a DJ but the easier way is to do it with a controller and software. You can use a mixer to learn it too, as it's the traditional way. Also, you can use any kind of computer but be prepared that after some time, if you will want to go to parties, you will need one.

When I started DJing I got a Numark Mixtrack Pro 2, and Logitech Z323 Speaker System (because I was mixing on my computer), and Beats Headphones ($190). But cheap $20 headphones should be good. The grand total came out to be $350, but that was me. Your grand total should be from $120 - $300.

You can break a track down into breakdowns (the part where where the vibes in the song starts. The silent or slow part.) Drops (main part and the loudest part.) Chorus, bridges (everything speeds up) intros and extros. To identify them, you can see the spectrum or count beats. Usually they are in 30, 45, 60 seconds.
