Since many people chat on wikiHow, I was just thinking that we should have a No Chatting WikiProject. At the next wikiMeetup, we can discuss the ideas! I don’t go to the meet ups, but perhaps one of you can bring up the idea! Let’s do this.

Hey! I don’t quite understand what you mean by this:) Could you explain the project a little bit?

I think this is a good idea, but we can manually coach users that chat.

Most projects are about teaming up to collaborate on a certain aspect, topic, or category in order to raise quality. Dealing with chatters is merely a coaching strategy and doesn’t necessarily need a project to accomplish.

Oh, thanks for clearing that up!

As Matt said above, we could individually warn users, but yours is a good idea too. I think I will try to create a project as soon as more people agree and we sort out things including, designs, functions, rules etc

Just to add onto this, chatting is also something that happens primarily in talkpages and forums. Even if projects were meant to be followed through with this way, a project wouldn’t be too helpful in that it projects are mainly known by regularly visiting users. It’s the new users of whom have a tendency to chat. Not only that, the project would mainly follow through with warning users, I assume, which can be done whether you’re in a project or not.
