A few months ago, I started the awards team. It was speceficly for new users, with up to two months of experiance. It was to raise quality, and motivate new users. One problem, there was a little fight, and when it died down, I didn’t want to do it anymore. I think we should make this into a real team, and if we can, I’ll find the template, and the link. So, thoughts, anyone? =) June Days

When you welcome users, maybe, or if they ask for your help, motivate them. Tell them, they’ll get recognition on the team page, and a template. (I’ll find the link) Note, only for users, with two months or less of experiance. Anyone who wants to help, is very welcome!June Days

Different people are motivated by different things. I can just share my personal experience. I’d rather have thumbs up for edits (love 'em), or a personal message from NAB with a simple thanks for a new article. I’d suggest being very liberal with thumbs as long as the edit is good, no matter how small. It’s always nice to balance out the “Hey, you messed up” messages with thumbs.
Giving awards specificly to those of 2 months only?
Kermit123: I agree a lot with you, I love getting TU’s, however, as you said, different people are motivated by different things, so, I think we’ll go on with this, and anyone can help it they want. Just patrolled the request and I have to say that it just feels to me like a social networking type of endeavor.
It’s not that, and a lot of people request to have their pages decorated, This is an actual team, just like every other team - I just need someone else to design, because I have no idea how. (Sad, I know) This is to motivate new users, (Sure, the RC might go up even more, if a lot of people work hard…) not talk. I usually welcome them myself, all I would have to do, is put the message in.June Days
