Hi all
I saw a lot of people that like to write stories and draw things, so I thought, why not create a separate wiki just for artists. Just like wikihow, but for artists where people can share stories, poems, drawings or maybe a song they wrote?
What do you think?
I would like to participate
Nice drawing on your user page
Thanks
If we get enough volunteers, we can create something like this
@Adriaan
Van Zyl I would contribute (-:
How many volunteers would it require to start??
You already have 2
@ MissUnicornLover
Well to make it worth it, we would need about 10 volunteers to start
Right, ok. Let me round some up (-:
What platform would we be creating the wiki on? There is Wikia, Wikifoundry, MediaWiki, and Wikimedia, although on Wikimedia, someone has to approve the wiki before it can be created (Wikimedia uses MediaWiki). Wikia, Wikifoundry and MediaWiki do not do that.
I was thinking about using MediaWiki, since most of us at WikiHow can use at least most of the features and it seems great for a project like this .
Yeah. I personally think so too. I forgot to mention that Wikia also runs on MediaWiki.
Otherwise we could just use a page like this, http://www.wikihow.com/wikiHow:Forgotten-Article-Project
, but I’m not sure if WikiHow will go for it. I don’t want it to seem that I just wanna use WikiHow to get people to help me on my own site. I want to involve everyone

If the project is not wikiHow-related (and it doesn’t sound like it is), you will need to host it somewhere other than wikiHow.
I like wikia.com
. I’ve reserved a page for wikiart, in case you want to use that address.
I checked all the wikis McDonalds1
mentioned in his comment. Could someone please help me understand how is one wiki is different from another???
Well, I’m not sure if this will help at all but I just created a WikiMedia account? We could use my account I guess
Like I said, on Wikimedia, a site needs to be approved before it can be created. They are really strict about that, and I don’t think you would trust them. Try Wikia, Wikifoundry, or MediaWiki.
Hi Guys,
Sorry for not updating. Been busy a bit. So far, as I counted we have 4 contributors (including me) and I think the best would be hosting the site ourselves. I checked out the hosted versions above and they don’t really impress.
Oh, I was hoping that it was a part of wikiHow. A teacher in college spoke so passionately about google , wikipedia and how and who and why they created them that I got compelled to be a part of it. There is no way I any other website could generate as much interest in me. As of now, I would like to express my heartfelt apologies for not being able to further participate in your venture. I apologies and wish you all the best in your endeavors.
Oh, I’m not sure I could do that Adriaan. Sorry, if it was on WikiHow it would have been easier…however, if you need help ask me because I’ll love to help if I have time! (-:
