I recently watched the “Why Wikihow” slideshow and it was fantastic and I wanted to do a project like this yself but obviously need some people to conribiute and so that s why I am asking that I can have approval. I would also like to feature some articles and my plan is to ask what people use Wikihow for? @SarahB @Krystle @Adelaide

You cannot feature articles. Choosing which articles to feature on our home page is a task carried out by @Krystle and several other staff. You can certainly nominate articles for featuring though!  http://www.wikihow.com/Nominate-an-Article-for-Featured-Article-Status

I like your idea a lot, but we already have that project:  http://www.wikihow.com/wikiHow:Why-We-wikiHow . If you’re really curious as to why people contribute, your best bet would be to ask them on their talk page:slight_smile:

I’m confused with what the project is. Whatever it is, make it clear that it is your UNOFFICIAL wiki how project and not in any way sponsored by wikiHow and then you should be good to go!

And the project is basically a clone of the WhyWiki project but a little different.

@Zachariah05 May I ask how it differs? Perhaps if there is just a little difference you could suggest the idea to be added to the existing project?:slight_smile:

You could absolutely discuss it with Krystle (since she runs the existing one) but it’s hard to say how she’d feel given its similarly to the existing project.:slight_smile:Definitely ask, though! Keep in mind that the wikiHaus has limited time available, so if she doesn’t go for the idea it has no reflection on your self worth or project!

Maybe, I will make this a bit more clearer. I want to start some sort of project that talks about wikihow, weather it was a movie, slideshow or like a little report that people can look back to. This is similar to the WhyWiki project but obviously I am doing it in a different way because not only will I ask Wikihow editors, I will ask the public as well. To address the featured article situation, the idea was to feature a few articles in the project.

@Zachariah05 It sounds like a nice idea, but if there is just one difference, perhaps you could suggest that it is added to the existing one as oppose to creating a new project?

I have decided to just leave it now as it is creating problems rather then positive solutions and ideas and this is why I am officially ending my thoughts and saying that the idea has not expire.

Hey Zach, I’m not exactly sure why you feel you need to end the discussion. It is not causing problems, users are asking how this project will work. Why do you feel there are problems going on? Of course we can close this thread if you wish not to continue, however.
