There many auto-retweeting accounts on X, the site formerly known as Twitter. However, you can turn off retweets for a specific user if you don’t like their Tweets.

Using the X/Twitter App for Android

  1. It’s the black icon with a white X. Login with your account, if you haven't already done so. Also, make sure that your app is up to date.
  2. Use the search bar to easily find the preferred account.

  3. You can see this icon at the top-right corner of the app. A menu panel will show up.
    • On iOS, tap the gear icon.
  4. It will be the second option on the list.
  5. To re-enable retweets, click on the icon again and select the Turn on Retweets option. Done!

Using the X/Twitter Website

  1. Login to X . Go to www.twitter.com in your web browser and sign in with your account details.
  2. You can mute retweets from any account, but you can't turn off retweets from all X accounts that you follow at once.
  3. Click on the icon to view the hidden menu.
  4. When you're done, the following message will pop up on your screen: “Retweets from account will no longer appear in your timeline.”
  5. If you want to re-enable retweets, click on the icon again and select the Turn on Retweets option. That's it!
