QuestionI have been homeschooled my whole life and I am starting a co-op for the first time. Everyone seems to know each other already! How can I make friends?Drew Hawkins1Community AnswerIt's completely understandable to not know where to start! One of the best ways to make new friends is to find people who probably share common interests with you. Check out any clubs your school offers that interest you. You could also join one of the sports teams if that's your thing. That way, you'll be around people who are interested in some of the same things as you, which can make it easier to make friends.

QuestionAfter some time (after the current pandemic) I will be joining to high school in some other country where i won't be knowing any child from before guide please. Also how do I act like myself?Drew Hawkins1Community AnswerIt sounds like you're dealing with a lot of new changes. But new doesn't mean bad and it doesn't have to be scary. Since you're starting at a new school, try taking some time to get to know the school itself. Find out where everything is located (cafeteria, classrooms, etc.) so you aren't lost while you're walking around and you feel more comfortable in your surroundings. If you're comfortable, you'll be more confident, which may make it easier for you to meet new people in your classes and around school.

QuestionWhat should I do if I am the only black girl in the school and the rest are white, and they just don't seem to like me because of the way I talk or my colour?Drew Hawkins1Community AnswerIf you're new to the school, it could be just that they haven't gotten a chance to get to know you yet. Try joining a club or after-school program that fits your interests. For instance, if you're into anime, poetry, or dance, you can probably find a club to join so you can meet other people who are into some of the same things you're into. However, if you feel like you're being discriminated against, talk to a school counselor or principal. You do not have to put up with any form of racism.
