Day 1: Avoid solid foods for the first 24 hours after vomiting has passed. Continue to keep hydrated with water, juice, and broth. Day 2: Begin re-introducing solid food following the BRAT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast). You can start with some of these bland foods and watch the child carefully to see how they are tolerated. Day 3: If the child has tolerated the BRAT foods, then you can go back to their normal eating routine.
