Don’t write the executive summary first.
Although this section will appear as the first paragraph in your business plan, write it last. In order to craft a succinct and precise executive summary, you will need to include all of the information contained within the rest of the plan.
Don’t include unrealistic goals or statements.
While you want to cast your business in the best possible light, avoid embellishing financial data or balance sheets. In some cases it might be necessary to hire a professional (such as a lawyer or accountant) to make sure the information you are presenting in your plan is accurate.
