Be unique
Avoid boring texts like “Hey, how’s your day?”. Say something memorable that opens the door for extended conversation.
“Hey, found a copy of that book you were talking about the other night. Excited to
crack it open!”
“I’m debating whether I should pay you a compliment, do a horrible pick-up
line, or offer a simple hello. Any preference?”
Be personal
Say her name (or a special nickname) in the text to add a touch of intimacy.
“Hey punk, what are you up to tomorrow?”
“Nat-attack, want to grab lunch?”
Compliment her
Pay her a compliment every so often.
“I like that mischievous smile you do when you say something brilliantly witty. ;)”
“You look so good right now… I can’t actually see you, but I assume you look good,
because you always do.”
Playfully tease her
Play to her sense of humor and keep it light.
“I’ve never met anyone with such a dorky sense of humor.”
“Oh, you’re from Texas… do you carry barbeque sauce in your purse?”
Ask a flirty question
Asking a playful question will open the door for her to text something flirty back.
“Do you like it when someone makes the first move?”
“Why are you so adorable?”
Be mysterious
Omit boring, unnecessary details and leave her something to look forward to in your face-to-face conversations. A little silliness is a good strategy.
“My day was filled with humans who might be monsters and humans in long trench coats
and glasses. People are endlessly amusing.”
“This weekend is pretty typical for me… you know, hunting down the original Magna
Carta and whatnot.”
Be suggestive
Depending on the closeness of your relationship (and if she’s into it), don’t be afraid to text some sexually suggestive (and tasteful) lines.
“My thoughts are particularly ‘Rated R’ today…”
“Did I mention that I want to kiss you? If not, I want to kiss you.”
