How to Play the Poison Candy Game
-
Spread out a handful of candy on a plate. Choose any candy that you and the other player enjoy, such as Skittles, chocolates, or gummy bears, and put a small handful out in front of you. Shorter games work well with 10-15 pieces of candy, but you can add more pieces if you want a longer game.
- Poison Candy works best for 2 players.
- If you don’t have candy, you can use any type of small bite-sized food as a replacement. You could even use drinks by filling up multiple cups with a couple sips of liquid.
-
Have each player secretly pick a candy to poison. Have one player turn around and close their eyes. The other person then chooses one piece of candy to “poison.” After the first player chooses their candy, they close their eyes, and the other player picks another piece of candy to poison. - If you don’t want to have sweets or have had too many later in the game, just set the piece of candy aside instead of eating it.
-
Reveal whether the candy was safe or poison. After eating the candy, the other player reveals if the candy was safe to eat or if it was the one they poisoned. If the candy was safe, then the game continues with the next player.
- Add a little bit of suspense by pausing for a second or two before revealing if the candy was safe or poisoned.
-
Take turns until someone picks a poison candy. Alternate who picks candy from the leftover pieces. As the game goes on, there will be fewer options to choose from. As soon as someone eats the candy that the other player poisoned, they lose and the game is over! [3] X Research source
