You can also flirt with him a little bit! Make a few comments like, "You're a really great listener!" or "You're really interesting to talk to!" Then, escalate by asking him to grab coffee with you, or something similar. If he's flirting with you or breaking the touch barrier, these are signs that he's definitely interested in you too. If he's in a relationship, he'll probably mention it then.
If you have some suspicion that he may have a girlfriend, then directly ask at one point. Say something like, "You seem like a really cool guy. Are you seeing anyone?"
Another thing could be literally passing him a note or sending a fun text message saying, "You're cute" or "You look adorable today," or something like that to show your interest. Ultimately, just being very clear and saying something like, "It's so cute or whenever you're really interested in a subject you just light up, it's so adorable, I can hardly contain myself." So you really just come back and say those things in person instead of beating around the bush. Being direct is always a better way to tell someone you like them than any other way.
The first thing to do is to introduce yourself (but don't come in like a bull in a china shop. Instead, say hello, and give her enough space and distance that she doesn't feel like her space is invaded or that she can't just easily exit the situation). Speak in a soft tone, and try offering a direct compliment (like, "Hey, I saw you and think there's something about you, and I just wanted to say hi"). Then get a conversation going by commenting on something about the situation: for instance, if you're in line at a coffee shop, you could say, "I'm getting an oat milk cappuccino. What's your favorite thing to get?" It can be that simple. Just be open to meeting people anywhere and everywhere.
When guys are young, they can be really emotionally moody in the sense that they could one day be giving you attention and then the next day be very cold (or ignore you entirely). I know that can be disheartening and can feel like, “What's going on here?” but that’s just him being a moody guy if there are a lot of other signs he likes you.
Try something subtle, like when you're hanging out, lean in and whisper something funny, say they look great tonight, or tell them they smell really good. Just feel their vibes.
If it's hard to just be friends, then at that point you just have to lay it out. You can say, "I'm really starting to feel like there's something more between us" or, "I feel like maybe we should explore more of what we're feeling." When you take that risk, you have to ask yourself, is it worth ruining the friendship we have? And if the answer is yes, then you gotta take it, you got to go there, and then you have to follow that through.
