Megaera Lorenz, PhD

Megaera is a writer for wikiHow with over twenty years of writing experience and a lifelong history as a self-taught techie. As a kid in the 1980s, she taught herself to type using a primitive word processing program on her mother’s Kaypro computer. She went on to learn HTML in her early teens, when she took an enthusiastic plunge into the brave new world of personal website development. Her more formal tech background includes taking graduate-level classes in ArcGIS, doing digital photography and photo editing of museum objects and archaeological finds, and building online courses using eLearning platforms like ANGEL and Blackboard. She has a PhD in Egyptology from the University of Chicago. Her writing has been featured in publications such as the Journal of Near Eastern Studies, the Oriental Institute Museum Publications series, and the ABC-CLIO World History Encyclopedia. Her debut novel, The Shabti, was published by CamCat Books in 2024.
