Do you think that only boys can be spies? Just because they only sell the cool gadgets for the boys, it does not mean you cannot be a great spy girl! Read this article to learn how to become a Kid Spy!

Method 1
Method 1 of 2:

Gathering equipments

  1. Pick a color that you like. It should be about two to four inches. Buy some stickers and put them on the cover. Do not write anything like "My spy clues" or "My spy notebook" on the cover. This is the biggest mistake you could make! Instead, you could put "Homework Notes" or something boring that doesn't attract people like "Notes on How Garlic Day Came to Be".
  2. It is nicer to get a small group of two to four people than a big group of five to ten. Help them and make sure they all have the necessary supplies that they need.

  3. Do not trust friends that have been friends with a person you do not like, for example, an enemy or ex-friend. They could be working as a double agent and passing on information to the enemy. You’d like to keep your double life a secret. There could be consequences if they knew.
  4. Pencils and pens are always a good choice. Bring some extra lead if you are using a mechanical pencil. Bring erasers and pencil sharpeners.
  5. It does not have to be much bigger than a normal bag, but it should have places where you can hide items.
  6. For example, assign letters to numbers: A=1 and B=2 C=3 and more.
  7. Get some lemon juice and put it in a bottle to use as ink. To activate the ink , heat the paper gently, being careful not to scorch or burn the paper.

Doing the mission

  1. A good choice at school would be lunchtime or recess. You can also get your group together after school at your house, in a secret place. Be careful where you go, as people can easily find out about your spying just by dining the same to you.
  2. This could be your bedroom or a clubhouse. You even can create your own Secret Spy Fort in a space where people can’t find you but you know your way out.
    • You can use anything, even a closet, if it has some room. Try to keep it in a secret place!
  3. Hide them in a locked safe or a location that no one is likely to "happen upon". Make sure that you "cover your tracks" when storing or retrieving your spy notebook. That is, make sure no one is watching you so that suspicion might be aroused.
  4. You need to know what your fellow spies are doing and how much evidence they have collected. Put them into your notebook.
  5. Dress in camouflage. Try to hide into bushes. If you don’t have bushes nearby, try to see what the people in the targeted surrounding dress, then try and dress similarly.
  6. Come up with titles such as "the leader"(yourself), "the brainiac" (friend one), "the stealth" (friend two) and "the jazz" (friend 3 if needed).
  7. How can you be a spy without a mission? The best missions can include finding out more about your parent's friends or learning about anything at school that's suspicious.
  8. This takes a lot of practice, inventiveness, preparation and rehearsing.
  9. They could be a double agent and be passing the information to the enemy.

If they are spending a lot of time with the enemy or they are asking suspicious questions about you, your plan or your weaknesses, they could be a double agent. If you ever catch them with someone from the "other side", be suspicious.
