I'm so tired of all my stuff, and just want to overhaul my closet. I want my clothes to go together better and I want to lean in to having an aesthetic. How do I even begin to go about doing that? I'm not quite shooting for a capsule wardrobe, but kind of want to head in that direction with a clear aesthetic.

Oh, I love this energy— a fresh style reset is the ultimate power move! ✨ The key to creating a wardrobe that feels cohesive, stylish, and effortlessly YOU is to start with intention. Here’s how we make it happen:

1. Define Your Aesthetic – Let’s get clear on the vibe you’re going for. Think about the looks you’re drawn to—are they sleek and modern, effortlessly chic, or bold and statement-making? A great way to start is by curating a Pinterest board or gathering inspiration from style icons who resonate with you.

2. Edit & Elevate – Before adding anything new, we’ll detox your closet—keeping only the pieces that align with your evolving style vision. This helps eliminate the “nothing to wear” frustration and makes room for pieces that truly serve you.

3. Curate with Purpose – Rather than going full capsule wardrobe, we’ll build a strategic collection of mix-and-match pieces that give you endless outfit possibilities. Think elevated staples with personality—pieces that work together seamlessly but still express your unique style.

4. Polish with Details – Accessories, shoes, and layering pieces will be your secret weapon in tying everything together. These small but mighty elements bring depth, texture, and signature flair to your aesthetic.

5. Refine & Maintain – Overhauling your style isn’t just about shopping—it’s about making sure your wardrobe works for you, not against you. A seasonal check-in to reassess what you love and how you feel in your clothes will keep you evolving effortlessly.

Build a vision board for styles you like. Start looking at magazines, Instagram posts for designers you like or influencers and start gather ideas. Once you create a vision board, you can kind of get a feel for what your new style will be. It can be a lot of fun! Go into stores and take a look at which styles look best on you. Bring a friend so they can help you figure out which outfits look best. Take pictures, feel confident and enjoy the transformation.

To work towards having an aesthetic, you have to first decide what aesthetic you want. If you don't know where to start there, go online and look up different aesthetics. Collect pictures of outfits and styles you like and soon you'll have an idea of what kind of aesthetic you're going for. Observe what kinds of clothes appear frequently in the outfits you like and that's your shopping list!

I'm not sure if you're looking to completely buy a new wardrobe or tailor an aesthetic with the clothes you already have, but if it's the latter I think you should first take inventory of what you have. Try on all your clothes to make sure you're only keeping the ones that fit you. After you've cleaned out your closet, evaluate the pieces you have and figure out what kind of aesthetic you create with them. Make sure you're considering creative uses for your clothes, like layering, tying, etc.

If you have a friend who wears a similar size as you, you can experiment with trying on their clothes! That can help you figure out an aesthetic that you like. You can also go to a mall and try on clothes to figure out what you like. Pay attention to the outfits on mannequins and models to see if any catch your eye.

Well, if you can- look through pinterest (hope I spelled it right) and find a style that "Speaks" to you! And try to buy the type of look the style gives.
