Recommendations for fun 3-player video co-op couch games?
I have these two friends I’ve gamed with online for years. Everything from League of Legends to Overwatch, even classic WOW. Anyway, the three of us have decided to meet up for a weekend IRL. I suspect we’ll do a bit of gaming but nobody is bringing their own consoles obviously, so what could I buy to play 3-person couch co-op? I know that’s kind of an outdated way to play, but someone out there has to making some sick couch co-op games, right? I have my PC hooked up to my TV so anything I can get on Steam or Epic should be on the list. I don’t mind spending a few dollars either if the games are really good. Thoughts?

Hey there! Frequent couch co-op player here. I play a bunch with my two teenage daughters. They aren’t huge
video game fans most of the time, but we love playing together on the sofa when there’s nothing going on. Anyway, here are my recommendations. The Trine
series is probably the best couch co-op to ever exist, in my opinion. It’s a 2D platformer with the perfect combination of action, puzzle-solving, and customization. Each playable class also has unique abilities, so everyone gets to feel unique and important to the play session.
My daughters and I also love Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime , which is a 2D space exploration shoot-em-up. You basically pilot a ship with your friends and everyone gets to choose from different stations on the ship where they can pilot, shoot, or protect the ship. Tons of fun.
Castle Crashers is a classic brawler that has a really fun art style and energy to it. It’s great “background gaming” if you all are chatting and hanging out but want to play something while you’re relaxing.
Lastly, I’m going to recommend Overcooked 2 . It’s such a funny co-op game. You have to prepare dishes for restaurant patrons, which sounds boring, but every task is time-based and there’s a ton of zany stuff that happens with ever run. Happy gaming!

Another game by the devs who made "Castle Crashers" is "Battleblock Theater"! It often goes on sale for like less than 5 bucks throughout the year. It's another platformer that has that same fun art style and chaotic energy that Castle Crashers has.

My favorite couch co-op game is Pico Park! I know you have 3 players but you can play it with up to 8 and I think the more the merrier with this game because of how chaotic it is. I think this game is so silly and gets a lot of laughs because as you go through levels together, it's sooo easy for one or two of you to mess it up and then everyone else gets mad at you haha. And they just came out with a second one that I'm excited to play!

I think Gang Beasts is fun! It's a silly fighting game with goofy jiggle physics. It's absolute mayhem when we play and it's the best. It's a game that doesn't take itself too seriously and neither should you!
