Ingredients
- Unsalted butter - 1 pound
- Boiled egg - use only the yolk
- Powdered sugar - Four heaping serving spoons full (approximately 3/4 cup)
- Vanilla (to taste)
- Cinnamon (to taste)
- White flour - 3 cups
- Self rising flour - 1 cup
- Brown sugar

Remove the cooked egg yolk from a boiled egg. Discard the egg whites or use them elsewhere.

Crumble the egg yolk into the sugar and stir until well blended and the sugar looks pale yellow.Advertisement

Melt the butter and add it to the sugar/yolk mixture.

Add vanilla to taste (approximately 2 tsp).

Add cinnamon to taste (approximately 2 tsp).

Add the flours and combine well.

Allow the dough to sit for 3-5 minutes for the flour to absorb the moisture and for the gluten to bind.

Roll the dough into 1 inch (2.5 cm) logs.
