Hulu Plus offers a range of TV and movie viewing options for $7.99 a month. While this is a great deal, you may find there are some times in your life when you're not using it enough to get your money's worth - for example, while you're on vacation, during the summer when only a few new shows are airing on TV, or when you're just too busy for regular viewing. Of course, you can cancel your subscription, but if you plan on resuming your viewing within 3 months, it's easier to put your account on hold.

Steps

  1. Log into Hulu Plus with your email address and password. Then hover over your name in the top right corner and click on Account.
  2. You will find it in the right-hand lower quadrant of your screen.

  3. Keep in mind that the hold begins at the start of the next billing cycle and can be put in force for up to 12 weeks. During that time, you won't be charged a fee for your account, and you won't be able to watch any Hulu Plus shows. After the hold, your account will reactivate and Hulu will bill you the monthly fee once again.
    • You can reactivate your account at any time.
    • If you want to stop your Hulu Plus activity for longer, you can cancel your account altogether.
  4. It will be displayed on your Account page. You will also get an email confirming the account hold and the resume date.

  • Question
How do I get to account page?
    Community Answer
Log into Hulu Plus with your email address and password. Then hover over your name in the top right corner and click on Account.
  • Question
After my hold, will I be able to watch Hulu Plus?
    Community Answer
When you place a hold, it takes effect at the start of the next billing cycle. While your account is on hold, you won't be able to watch Hulu Plus (just the regular, free Hulu options). After the hold expires or you remove it, your credit card will be charged again, your billing cycle will start from that day, and you will be able to watch again.
  • Question
Why is my subscription on vacation hold?
    Community Answer
You or someone else may have put your account on hold, as described in this article. To reenable your subscription, log in to your account and select "Resume subscription now" from your Account page.
