Can I block messages the same as phone calls?

If you add a number to the reject list as outlined above, it should block all incoming traffic from the number. This includes calls and text messages. It may not block messages through other programs (Gchat, Facebook, etc.) that have messaging programs done via WiFi, however.

How do I block a number on the S4?

Go to your call log and tap the number you want to block. It should bring up a screen that shows when they last called you and a spot for a contact picture. Click the setting button (it looks like 3 dots) in the top right corner and select "add to auto reject list."

How would I block calls on a Motorola Droid Maxx?

In your phone app, go to the "recent" tab. Tap on the phone number or entry you want to block to expand the details. Tap on "Call Details." On the detail screen, tap "Block Number." You will be asked if you actually want to block calls from the selected number. Tap "Block" to block the caller.

My Samsung Galaxy J3V updated to Android 7.1, and the ability to "add to block list" from the "recent" area of the phone app is gone. Is there an easier way to block numbers than Method 1 above?

Just go to your contacts and tap their contact. Then there should be three little dots up in a top corner: tap this and then tap block number.
