This one is a little tricky because it's so particular to the specific outfit. I recommend wearing a statement necklace when you're dressing up and the neckline is open, but never with a statement earring, because it's too much. Statement necklaces also look best when your hair is pulled back to some degree, and I love a statement necklace with a solid white or colored button-up, crewneck, and V-neck, as well.
  • Question
How do I improve my confidence when trying out a new style and people judge my new looks?
    Sarah Battilana
    Community Answer
You can try making changes gradually, or, you can simply say something like, "I decided to try something new, and I like it." Try to remember why you made the changes you made--chances are, you LIKE the new style, and that is what really matters.

  • Question
How do I change my style? Stores sell a lot of the same things and its hard to find a style that fits me.
    Community Answer
Thrift shops are your best friend. You can find clothes from all kinds of time periods, usually at a lower price.
  • Question
Im not able to do this. I still go to a private high school. How can I change?
    Sarah Battilana
    Community Answer
Can you add accessories to your uniform? Maybe a few pieces of unique jewelry or headbands or scarves could help you cultivate your style. If not, you may have to just focus on what you can control when you're not in school. Also, focus on your attitude--changing the way you see the world or becoming a more positive person can do a lot for changing your "look."
