    Expert Answer
It doesn't hurt to try! A side swept fringe just may work for you. You could also try a low bun with a long, side swept fringe, or voluminous waves.
  • Question
When I go to the salon I request that they cut my hair in a rounded side fringe. However, they always make my hair follow my eyebrow and that isn't what I want. How can I better explain to them the style I'm trying to achieve?
    Community Answer
Try telling them you want face framing bangs instead of straight. And also explain exactly as you have done here, saying what you do not want as much as what you do want.
  • Question
How do I cut my side swept bangs when I have short hair?
    Community Answer
You could gel your hair back and then leave one piece out. Cut that piece a little shorter and gel it to the side, then take the rest of your hair and comb it out.
  • Question
Can I have a side sweep without cutting my bangs?
    Community Answer
Yes, pull them to the side and put a barrette in it after positioning to liking. I use my ear to hold my hair, though.
  • Question
Can I have these type of bangs with bushy, curly hair?
    Community Answer
Yes, you can but you will have to be very careful while cutting that you don't cut too much. Keep your hair wet, but not too wet -- just moist enough to keep it straight. And then cut a little longer than what you want because your bangs will look shorter when they dry.
  • Question
How can I remove my side bangs? Do I have to let them grow?
    Community Answer
You can do that, or just simply clip them up if you want a quick solution. If you want straight bangs above your eyebrows, go to a salon in order to get the best results.
  • Question
Can I use scissors for this?
    Community Answer
Yes. You can still get the perfect haircut by doing it yourself, but be sure to use shears or hair cutting scissors, as they are sharper that normal cutting scissors and will give you a better chance for a perfect haircut.
  • Question
Can I go to the salon to get my side swept bangs cut?
    Community Answer
Yes, you can. They shouldn't charge much for it. My hair stylist charges $5 to cut side swept bangs.
  • Question
How do I keep my side-swept bangs the same way?
    Community Answer
I would suggest adding hairspray and a texturing/dry shampoo spray to add some hold to your hair prior to blow drying it, and then blow drying them in the direction you want them with a round or flat brush; you can also go over them with a flat iron to finish.
  • Question
My bangs were butchered. Will they grow back?
    Community Answer
Yes, probably, but it does take time, unless they already grew by the time your question was answered. You should go to a salon to fix them if you want (if you like).
  • Question
What face shapes do bangs not work with?
    Rudaba Manan
    Community Answer
Bangs can be flattering for any face shape if they are the right ones. Like for example: Side-swept bangs look great on round or square faces. Straight across bangs look good on heart-shaped or oval faces.
