    Expert Answer
Lead by example and treat yourself with kindness. If they see you treating your body like a trash can, they will too. If they come to you for advice, don’t send them away! Take time to listen to what they are going through. Chances are, you already went through it and can provide some valuable insight.
  • Question
What should you do if your sister is annoying you while you're on a playdate?
    Community Answer
Try to be patient with her and remember that she just wants to spend time having fun with you, too. If possible, find something fun for a child her age to do while you are playing with your friend. For example, give her a book to read, a puzzle to complete, or even ask her to draw a picture.
  • Question
What should I do when my 9 year-old sister and 10 year-old brother try to sneak up on me while I am on my laptop? I tried playing with them already.
    Community Answer
Try to distract them with an activity for just the two of them, like a scavenger hunt or competition. You could also let them know that you will play with them later, but right now you have to finish some work. If you need to, let your parents know that you need some help distracting your siblings while you use the laptop.
  • Question
Why does my sister like annoying me!?
    Community Answer
Sometimes siblings annoy you simply to get on your nerves or to get attention. Sometimes, however, they don't realize that they are being annoying and aren't trying to. Try talking to your little sister and let her know how you feel. Also try to be patient with her and remember what it was like when you were her age.
  • Question
What should I do if I accidentally hit my sister and then she says she gets to hit me back. She has no respect for me. She always fakes like she likes me around our mom around when she really doesn't. She even she bit me today and our mom ignored it because she thought I might be lying. How should I handle this.
    Community Answer
Sit down and talk with your mom about what is going on and how you are feeling about it. Let her know that you feel your sister doesn't respect and does things to hurt you. Ask your mom to help you come up with solutions for the problem.
  • Question
My younger brother and sister always tattle on me. When I explain to my parents they say, "They are younger and you're older". It's annoying what do I do?
    Community Answer
Try to talk to your siblings about when they should tell versus when it is just tattling. Explain that it's not okay to tell on someone just to get them in trouble and that it bothers you when they do this. Explain to your parents that you want to handle the situation maturely, but it really bothers you when they tattle on you.
  • Question
My sister really gets annoying. How should I handle this.
    Community Answer
Try ignoring her or giving her something else to do that she finds fun. If she is old enough, try talking to her about what she is doing. Let her know that you love her, but sometimes she does things that bother you. Then ask her to stop. You can also talk to your parents about what is going.
