  • Question
My library teacher always stares at me when she talks. What do I do?
    Community Answer
She's probably uncomfortable talking to groups, and for whatever reason she feels a little less anxious looking at you. People who are bad at public speaking will often choose one person to look at so it doesn't feel so much like they're talking to a crowd. You don't have to look her back in the eyes if you don't want to, just look in her general direction so she can see you're paying attention.
  • Question
How do I deal with a creepy teacher if my parents think I am exaggerating?
    Community Answer
Keep bringing it up to them and tell them how serious you are about this issue. You can also talk to your school's guidance counselor, or even the principal. Make sure to be specific and tell them exactly what bothers you about the teacher.
  • Question
I've actually done all of these steps (and so have other students), but the teacher continues to work at our school without investigation. What can I do to keep our school safe from his behavior?
    Community Answer
Report this behavior to the police or the local school board.
  • Question
I am starting a new class tomorrow. The teacher is a male and I feel uncomfortable having a male teacher. How do I deal with it?
    Community Answer
You're just going to have to get used to it. Remind yourself that he's just a person and you have no reason to feel intimidated or uncomfortable. Treat him respectfully like you would any other teacher. It's just a bit of a change, you'll get used to it after a few days or weeks of class.
  • Question
How do I deal with a teacher who creeps me out if my school doesn't allow students to bring phones to school?
    Community Answer
Buddy up with another student and keep an eye on each other around the teacher (i.e., if one of you has to stay after class to talk to them, you both stay). This way there's always someone to corroborate whatever happens. If several students in the class have complaints about the teacher, you can go as a group and talk to the principal.
  • Question
What do I do if my parents think my teacher is a creep?
    Community Answer
If they have a legitimate reason to feel this way, suggest that they call the school and file a complaint about the teacher.
  • Question
Last year I had a teacher who sexually harassed me as well as some other girls. Is it too late to report this?
    Community Answer
It is never too late to report sexual or other harassment. Since several of you have experienced this, then it'll be worth trying to see who else is willing to lay a complaint, so try to get in contact with the other girls. Record the dates of the incidents too, as well as where they happened and what times, as you will be asked these things when interviewed. If it feels hard, and it is hard to do this, just remember you deserve to be heard and have this resolved properly and this teacher should not be doing this to any more girls.
