Does fumigation kill chiggers in the house?

It depends. Many mites/chiggers are now resistant to permethrin (thanks to overuse in modern agriculture). Cedarwood oil works, as it does for other insects/spiders/bugs. A good vacuum cleaner with HEPA filter and steam mop does a the job. Put 2 teaspoons of Bicarb in the filter (dries mites out) and throw out the filter after every use.
