How do I deal with a bully in the workplace?

Document the times/places the bullying occurs. Include as much info as possible. Report the bullying to your supervisor/manager/boss/health and safety officer, provided copies of the documented incidents. They should then be able to take the appropriate steps to deal with the issue. If your supervisor/manager/boss/health and safety officer will not deal with the bullying for whatever reason, or you feel more needs to be done, you have the right to escalate it to your Provincial/Territorial/State Health and Safety Board. You can do this anonymously. Again, provide all the information possible.

If the person's work is at its expected level, the guidelines are being followed and the person is courteous to customers and coworkers, you just need to be a professional and be civil to your subordinate. There may be people in the workplace who don't like you, but rather than trying to get you fired, they've been mature about it and found ways to adapt.
