  • Question
Can chamomile grow in a tropical country?
    Deniseke
    Community Answer
I imagine that chamomile can be grown in a tropical country. Chamomile needs sun to produce lots of flowers. (In the shade, it produces very few flowers.) In fact, you might be able to get chamomile to grow year round. A problem you might encounter is the high humidity, which could cause some problems with fungus on the leaves and stems. If you have a garden, try sprinkling some seeds on a small, sunny patch of moist soil. You don't need to cover the seeds with soil; they need sunlight to sprout. As with most herbs, they don't need rich soil to thrive.
  • Question
Is it possible to grow chamomile from cuttings?
    Deniseke
    Community Answer
Roman chamomile, a perennial plant, can be grown from cuttings. German chamomile, an annual, is not a good candidate for cuttings.
  • Question
Is chamomile a good companion plant?
    Community Answer
Chamomile is an excellent companion plant, along with other herbs such as basil, dill, chives, and even lavender. Many of these herbs pair specifically with certain vegetables to enhance their flavor, and chamomile may do this for onions.
  • Question
Can chamomile grow in tropical climates?
    Community Answer
Chamomile may struggle to grow in tropical climates, as it doesn't do too well in extremely high heat. It also doesn't thrive in soaking soil, preferring it to be well-drained.
