  • Question
How should I clean up the spray paint on top of the water?
    Zack
    Top Answerer
You can swipe the paint away with a paper towel or a similar absorbent product.
  • Question
Can I use an acrylic finisher?
    Zack
    Top Answerer
You can use an acrylic finish coat if the directions for the hydro dip do not contraindicate an acrylic overcoat.
  • Question
Even with warm water, my spray paint starts to form a skin almost immediately, and my wooden stick gathers up the paint when I try to make a design. What am I doing wrong?
    Zack
    Top Answerer
It is likely that your paint is a very fast-drying paint. Try a slower-drying paint. See the can for drying times. If you paint in direct sun or very hot weather, the paint will set up too fast, so try cooler weather and shade.
  • Question
If I were dipping an RC body, would I be able to put the graphic on the inside of the car or would it have to go on the outside of the body?
    Zack
    Top Answerer
The paint is going to adhere to the first surface that it touches: the exterior of your model. If you could turn the car inside out, it would work, but that is not possible. The graphic will always be on the outside of the object dipped.
  • Question
What happens if I get everything I need, know the dry paint times, and do everything correctly but it does not work? What would I do?
    Maria Windsor
    Community Answer
In that case, you'll have to fully evaluate what you did. The first couple of times it will be tricky and you might have missed a mistake you made. There also might be a problem with the paint, is it too old? Did you shake it enough? But as long as you check everything and get the hang of it, you should be fine. There's lots of YouTube videos from reliable sources such as The King Of Random that have plenty of useful tips if you're having trouble.
  • Question
I've bought spray paint, water container and shoes. What else should I buy?
    Community Answer
If there is a part of the shoes you don't want hydro dipped, then buy tape and cover that area. Other than that, I think you have everything.
  • Question
Will the surface of the paint be smooth enough and strongly stick to the object ?
    Lindleigh Norton
    Community Answer
It depends on what the object is. Paper will stick better than metal or wood.
  • Question
What type of spray paint should I use? Some look really good, but are too expensive.
    Lisa Welton
    Community Answer
Any type of spray paint would work, but in most cases when it comes to paint, the higher the price tag, the better the quality.
  • Question
Can it be clear spray paint, or does it have to be a sealant?
    Lisa Welton
    Community Answer
I would recommend using a sealant over a clear spray paint; its purpose is to seal in the previous colors, while a clear spray paint is basically just more paint.
  • Question
When you are dipping the object, won't the places that your fingers were holding the object not get painted?
    Community Answer
If an area of the object doesn't get paint on it, just rotate it around in the rest of the paint.
  • Question
    Do I need a primer?
    Ariana
    Community Answer
You don't need primer, but it's great for makeup. Primer helps make a smooth and poreless surface for makeup, and it helps make sure your makeup stays on all day.
