Definitely think about where you're going to get your supplies when you do need them, for example, things like fuel or electricity. You're going to want to think about what could happen if something breaks. What's your backup? If you do drive to your location, you should probably have a backup of fuel in case you need to go to town for delivery service. I would also think about having a backup of food and backup ways to store cold food, for example, heavy-duty freezers that can keep your food cold for several days even if the power goes out.

  • Question
Would it be a good idea to own animals to get eggs, meat, and milk from?
    Community Answer
Sure, as long as your municipality and neighbors don't have a problem with it. Basically, you just want to do some perennial planting first, so the animals can eat for free and you don't have to buy hundreds of pounds of supplement food for them. You'll also need to do a lot of research and searching for supplies ahead of time. You may find just making an overall better habitat zone for local small animals is all you need to do. Squirrels, rabbits and gophers are quite tasty.

Most of these can be done regardless of age, some with assistance, but all require resources. You may have more pressing issues from what you've mentioned than the hope of leaving money behind - it is easy to give up things when your needs are met, and nearly impossible when they are not. After all, you are not giving up if you did not have it in the first place! Take the advice you can (such as bartering), then focus on learning how to survive being homeless and/or how to recover from homelessness. Other articles will be more helpful.
