Take a small amount of vinegar and pour it over the affected carpet area. This works best for small stains. Mix a solution of 2 cups of warm water, 1 tablespoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of liquid dish soap and 1/2 cup of vinegar. Dip a soft cloth or sponge into the mixture and apply to the soiled area. Blot lightly. You may need to do this a couple of times to remove a tough stain.
  • Question
I've always been told not to vacuum wet areas, what will this do to my vacuum by using it to get any excess solution out?
    Bishonen_isnt_cool
    Community Answer
If it's a wet vac, no problem at all. A dry vac could not suck up much water before turning the dust bag into a soggy mold farm, and producing a possible shock hazard. If the vacuum doesn't say "Wet-Dry" then don't vacuum up any liquid.
