Someone told me that the overhand shuffle is not an acceptable shuffle when playing Bridge. Is this true?

Personally I don't mind, and I don't know anyone who would. The method of shuffling doesn't affect how mixed the cards get as long as you do it enough times, they might have meant that people can see the cards when you shuffle if you're doing it in the air instead of on a table.
