  • Question
Is there somewhere that will transfer a photo to fabric for me?
    Community Answer
Yes, you can go to a tailor or you can have someone do it at a craft store, such as Michaels or Hobby Lobby.
  • Question
Is there something I can apply over the transfer to keep it from fading?
    Community Answer
Not really. What you can do, however, is wash the garment inside out in cold water, and air dry it (as opposed to using the dryer). This will help keep the transfer from fading.
  • Question
I have a customer who wants a photo of his motorcycle transferred to his denim biker jacket. What's the easiest way to do this?
    Community Answer
Take the image and jacket to an embroiderer who uses electronic machinery. This is the best way to do it.
  • Question
How many times can I use a printed image as a transfer?
    Community Answer
You can use the same image as many times as you would like, but you cannot reuse transfer sheets.
  • Question
How can I create a stretched canvas on a frame using a picture?
    Community Answer
If you want your image to appear on a stretched canvas, it is best to apply the photo after stretching the canvas. Lining up your canvas perfectly can be very difficult, especially if you are stretching your own canvas.
  • Question
Can a photo transfer be put on a seam?
    Community Answer
You can transfer a photo on a seam. Just note that anywhere that the fabric is not touching the transfer will be an interruption in your image. This might not be a problem for you. If you need to transfer on a seam, but want your image to be as seamless as possible, try cutting your image in two parts, and then transferring it on either side of the seam. This will make it easier to to create an image that has no interruptions, because you will have more control of how much of the transfer touches the fabric.
  • Question
Will linen work as well as cotton fabric?
    Community Answer
Yes, of course. Linen is a natural fiber like cotton is a natural fiber and transfers work best on natural fibers.
  • Question
What is the program for flipping a print?
    Community Answer
Your printer should have an option in the 'print dialogue' box to mirror the print.
  • Question
Can I quilt over the transferred picture?
    Community Answer
Yes, but it might distort the image. It would be best to stitch in the ditch around the photo and then you can quilt all around the background of the photo. You just might have to do a sample first but I think stitching across a person's face would not look very good.
  • Question
Does the image need to be backwards?
    Community Answer
No, but remember if there is text, it will be reversed as well as the actual image when transferred.
  • Question
Can I use a InkJet canon printer to transfer photo to fabric?
