It sounds like your backlit keyboard has a timeout function. This is an easy fix, but keep in mind that your laptop is turning off the light to save battery power. In order to modify the keyboard light's timeout function, you're going to need to open your laptop's BIOS settings menu. You can easily do this by restarting your laptop, and repeatedly tapping the F10 key until the BIOS menu opens. Once the BIOS menu has opened, use the arrow keys to navigate to the "Advanced" tab, then navigate to "Built-in Device Options", and tap the Enter key. After that, navigate to the "Backlit keyboard timeout", tap the Space bar, and choose the new option you want.
