Using the Settings Menu

Open your Android's Settings app. Find and tap theicon on your Apps menu to open the Settings menu.
- Alternatively, you can swipe down the notification bar from the top, and tap theicon.

Find the Mobile data switch on the Settings menu. You can find this option under "Wireless & Networks" or "Networks & Connections" on the menu.
- Depending on your version, this option may be named Cellular data .
- On some devices, you may have to tap and open the Mobile Network menu first to find the data switch.

Slide the Mobile data switch to. This will enable cellular data on your Android. You can now access the internet without a Wi-Fi network.
- Using cellular data may incur extra fees and charges on your bill if you're not subscribed to a mobile data plan by your carrier.

Using the Quick Panel

Swipe down the notification bar from the top of your screen. This will open your quick options panel, and allow you to customize your settings.
- If the quick panel opens up to your notifications, swipe down from the top again, or tap the menu button on the top-right to see the setting buttons.

Find the Data connection option on the quick panel. When this option is disabled, your Android requires a Wi-Fi network or a wired connection to connect to the internet.
- On some versions, this button may be named Mobile data , Cellular data or another similar name.

Tap the Data connection button. The widget should light up when it's enabled. Your Android will now use your mobile data plan to connect to the internet.
- This option may also be named Mobile data or Cellular data .
- You can also tap Wi-Fi here to turn it off and disconnect from your wireless network.
