Parboil Potato Hashbrown Recipe
Ingredients:
* 4-6 medium-sized potatoes, peeled and grated
* 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
* 1 egg, beaten
* 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
* 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
* Salt and pepper, to taste
* 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions:
Parboil the potatoes: Place the grated potatoes in a pot of salted boiling water and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until they are partially cooked but still firm.
Drain the potatoes and pat them dry with a paper towel.
In a large bowl, mix together the grated potatoes, flour, beaten egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Once the oil is hot, add the potato mixture to the skillet, spreading it out in an even layer.
Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side, or until the bottom is golden brown and crispy.
Use a spatula to flip the hashbrown and cook the other side for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
Serve hot as a side dish or breakfast item.
