Bring up something fun you’ve been wanting to do. “Did you hear they’re doing a haunted house downtown? It’s supposed to be really fun.” “That new sushi place finally opened! I’ve been dying to go.” Mention something you know you both enjoy. “Have you heard about that new superhero movie? It’s supposed to be even better than the last one. Do you think that’s even possible?” “You like theme parks and rollercoasters and stuff, right? I’ve actually never been to the theme park here but I want to try it so bad. Have you been?” Suggest that you both go together. “Would you want to go together? I think it’d be really fun.” “We should go together sometime. I think you’re the only person I know who’d enjoy it as much as me. What do you say?” Offer to go in a group, but make sure he knows you want one-on-one time. “You could invite Thomas and CJ, but I don’t think they’d like it as much as you would.” “We could go in a group too, if you want. I thought it’d be really fun to go just us, but I’m fine either way!” If he says yes, set a date. “Cool! Does Friday work for you?” If he says no, smile and say it’s OK. “OK, no worries. Maybe some other time?” “No problem. I better get to class though, I’ll see you around!”
