Although we had dearly hoped he would be in suitable health to attend the event, he has contracted a form of pneumonia and is currently hospitalized at St. Joseph’s. This is an obviously difficult time for our family and some of his oldest friends, such as yourselves. I am sorry if you incur any cost associated with the planned birthday celebration. I’m sure given the opportunity, my grandfather would love to see some caring faces while in the hospital.
