Dear Coach Karr, Spending these last three years on the swim team has been a great experience for me. It has taught me the value of hard work and self-motivation. I really learned how to be a member of a team, and all of us working together to get to the semifinals last year was a very powerful reward for our training and discipline. Unfortunately, since it is my junior year, I need to resign from the team. As much as I’ve enjoyed swimming, I really need to focus on getting into college. Practice interferes with my SAT tutoring sessions and takes time away from my schoolwork. I need to keep my grades up and focus on my applications, and I won’t be able to do that if I remain on the team. I want to thank you for your role in my life as a coach and a mentor. I’m very grateful for the work you put into the team and the example of leadership you’ve provided to all of us. Raiders forever! Best, Simon Clifford
