Hey, I don’t think I’ve ever seen that drink before. What is that?
“I think it’s something with pomegranate juice? I asked for cranberry but I think the bartender decided to take the initiative and make me try something new, haha.”
Well, I can buy you the right one if it’s not any good.
“It’s actually really good, so don’t worry about it haha. Thanks though—if I find myself craving some cranberry later, I’ll know who to ask.”
You just let me know. I’m Caleb, by the way.
“I’m Annie. Nice to meet you.”
Do you live around here?
“I’m actually just in the area visiting a friend. She’s over there getting another drink.”
In that case, I should tell you that there’s not much to do around here at all. This bar is about as far as the nightlife goes around here.
“Really? Wow, maybe I should have made her come visit me!”
Yeah, it’s pretty quiet here. Luckily, you’re talking to the one person who knows all the best things to do.
“Hmm… really? I’m just that lucky that I ran into that one person?”
Looks like it. Let me give you an example.
“Haha, OK.”
You think this is just a small suburb with nothing to do, right? But little do you know that just a mile away from here, up on that big hill behind town, is the best place to see the stars in the whole state.
“And you’ve been to every stargazing spot in this whole state? If that’s true I guess it’s pretty impressive, but…”
It’s true. I grew up here, I’ve driven around everywhere. That’s the only place I’ve ever been able to see a shooting star.
“I think I’ll just have to believe it when I see it.”
If it wasn’t so cloudy out, I could prove it to you. It’s supposed to be more clear tomorrow, though, and I’ve already told you that there’s nothing else to do around here…
“Well, we’ll see…”
