How do I get rid of fleas for good?

Ok, I had a severe flea infestation last year & this what you do. Your pet is going to have to be treated with Flea medication so I got Capstar which is a pill that prevents fleas on your pet for 3-4 months. You need a veterinarian flea medicine script , usually they sell them at the vet. Get some dawn soap, follow instructions on this page about giving your dog a bath. Pour generous amount all around his neck area..rub it in as you add water to create a soapy, soggy barrier for the fleas. Soak his coat with water and pour 1/4 bottle of dawn all over, tail, back, legs, stomach, sides, paws chest. Then start filling tub with enough water to come up to his stomach. Wash dog with the dawn and leave on for at least 15 min. Find a 15 minute video on your phone and watch over your dog. Look at your dogs head and around his mouth area…that’s where all the fleas that survived will be hiding. Carefully apply dawn around his mouth area and on top of his head and on the outside ear area. Massage into fur carefully avoiding eyes. .. wait 10 min. If u have a flea comb, use it. Thoroughly rinse dog then drain tub water. REPEAT ENTIRE PROCESS. DRY dog completely. Ok now get a shallow dish or small bowl, put a couple squirts of dawn in it and put warm water in it and mix it around forming soapy bubbles. Place dish where you seen fleas…get a lamp or flashlight and put it as close to dish as possible. Not just one dish…5 or 6 and put them where u seen fleas, add light source to them. Sprinkle the carpeted floors with 2 big things of generic salt and leave on carpet for a week. The next day you will see dead fleas in the bowls, empty them and repeat the entire process. Do this for 4 days in a row. Ok now you go to the store and buy FLEA FOGGER. Fog your room and leave following instructions on fogger box. Ok the next day, FOG that same area again. Wait 2 days and do another can of FLEA FOGGER. Make sure you are following fogger instructions ! Yes. After 1 week repeat the shallow dish or small bowl instructions. You should see improvement. Then get another box of flea fogger and repeat fogger process. Depending on flea infestation you should now be rid of fleas. If not, you will have to do another treatment of what I previously said to do. For every week that passes while doing this…vacuum carpets and reapply salt. Also during all of this you should be laundering any dog bedding, and all clothes and human bedding in scalding hot water. High heat for dryer setting. Put dried clothes in garbage bags and seal tightly to prevent fleas from infesting them again. You will def get rid of fleas but it takes time and patience.
