I usually wouldn't use the broiler to broil a chicken all the way. You can reverse sear the chicken with the broiler after cooking, or you can sear it in the beginning, but then you'll definitely want to turn your heat back down to a lower temperature like 350 so that the chicken cooks through to 165 without burning the skin.
