You shouldn't thin them, instead, comb them up and cut away the long ends. Then, comb them down and cut away the long ends. This will leave a thick but sculpted brow.

This is a personal choice, and some people can do it successfully. However, waxing can damage or bruise your skin if you do it improperly. If you're nervous about doing it yourself, consider seeing a professional.
  • Question
Will using hairspray damage my brows?
    Community Answer
No, using hairspray will not damage your brows. It will not affect their growth.
  • Question
    Does threading hurt?
    Magdalen Ketchum
    Community Answer
Threading tends to be painful, yes, but there's no reason to think it's any more painful than waxing or plucking. The pain is very quick.
  • Question
What if my parents don't agree with me doing this?
    Community Answer
You could use full coverage concealer, which will cover the hairs. Also, there are concealers especially made for eyebrow hairs.
  • Question
Could you maybe create an article on how to feel confident with thick eyebrows or maintain thick eyebrows? Can the images also have people with thick eyebrows instead of the very thin ones shown here?
    Cecilia Flores
    Top Answerer
Look at models from the Nineties. Cindy Crawford, for example. She's so gorgeous, and she has pretty thick brows. Don't think of your brows as bushy or big, think of them as Nineties super model brows. You could even do your makeup like a Nineties model, too! It's very neutral with dark brows.
  • Question
How do I pluck my eyebrows?
    Community Answer
Make sure you only pluck the middle of your eyebrows to the edge of the corner of your eye. If you go farther in, you are going to have uneven eyebrows. Then, if you see any hair sticking out, pluck it. You can trim them after plucking if needed.
  • Question
I want to do something with my eyebrows, but I don't know what shape I need. My eyebrows are thick. What should I do?
    Community Answer
You might want to make your eyebrows into a bold line. That said, if you show expression through your eyebrows, thick eyebrows can be gorgeous and interesting. Go natural, but make sure they are straight and well-maintained.
  • Question
My eyebrows are two giant caterpillars on my face. How do I maintain those?
    Community Answer
Get them threaded once per month. After this, they should be easier to maintain by plucking until your next appointment.
  • Question
What do you do if you have vertical hairs in the middle where a monobrow should start?
    Community Answer
You can pluck those hairs if they bother you.

  • Question
What if I need to get rid of the thickness of each hair?
    Community Answer
There is not really a way to get rid of the thickness, but if you trim it by first combing your eyebrow hairs up (so that it looks ridiculous), you can trim it so it is not as long, but will still cover the section of your brow that you want. Just don't trim too much.
  • Question
What about using an eyebrow razor or eyebrow knife?
    Community Answer
They're rather good for a quick fix. At times, you might find yourself with an ingrown hair, but those are easy to manage.
  • Question
    Would this work on men?
    Community Answer
    Yes.
  • Question
If I have an unibrow, but I don't want to tweeze it. What should I do?
    Community Answer
Tweezing is one of the only effective options. You can cover the eyebrows with makeup or try to wax. If you do the tweezing yourself, the pain will be way less than if someone else does it.
  • Question
Kids at school tease me, but I think if I got them thinned out it would be worse. What should I do?
    Community Answer
Just find the shape of your eyebrows. Once you find the shape, start to pluck the areas with excess hair. Make sure you do this light-handed! Be very careful so that you do not pluck too much. You would pluck in the area in between the eyebrows, under the eyebrows, and above the eyebrows. If you don't want to pluck your eyebrows, just take some concealer and outline the shape of your eyebrows. Then blend the concealer so the concealer lines are not as visible.
  • Question
    Can I thread my eyebrows?
    Community Answer
Yes, this works really well and looks great but it does hurt at first.
  • Question
I don't want to pluck or trim my eyebrows, is there a way to tame them without going to a salon or plucking?
    Cecilia Flores
    Top Answerer
Yes, you can use a tinted brow gel if you want to fill them in and tame them at the same time. You can also use clear brow gel, clear mascara or hairspray on your finger and run that over your brows just to keep them in place.
  • Question
    How can I thread eyebrows?
    Community Answer
You should always go to a trained/ licensed professional to get your eyebrows threaded.
  • Question
Some people say my eyebrows are too big, some people say they're on fleek. How do I know if my eyebrows are too big?
    Cecilia Flores
    Top Answerer
It doesn't matter what they think. If you like your brows and you're happy with them, then wear them how you want to!
  • Question
How can I do my brows without makeup or using wax?
    Community Answer
Try plucking your eyebrows with tweezers. If you need to, you can trim your eyebrows with scissors.
  • Question
I have really bushy and messy eyebrows, but I don't want to pluck them or wax them. How can I thin my eyebrows without plucking or waxing?
    Community Answer
There's no really good way to do that without plucking or waxing. If you don't like that, then try adding some sort of sticky clear gel to your brows and use an old mascara brush to lay them down the way you want. After they're dried, you can fill them in however you like.
  • Question
How should I shape my eyebrows at home for the first time? I can't go to a salon. I want a medium thickness and soft-arched eyebrows.
    Community Answer
Line the shape you want your brows to be with concealer or brow pencil and carefully pluck outside of those lines. If it is painful, numb the area with ice. It is easier to pluck after a hot shower. Always make sure to pluck in the direction of the hair growth.
