You can apply a patch of matching denim to the inside of your jeans to cover the hole if you really can't part with them.
  • Question
If I rip my jeans by the back pocket, can I sew them?
    Community Answer
Yes, remove the stitching where the pocket is sewn to the jeans. If the rip isn't too big, you can zigzag stitch the rip shut on a sewing machine, then stitch the pocket back on. If the rip is large, use a patch on the inside of the jeans, then follow the same process as before.

  • Question
What if I put a patch in, but the jeans ripped right below the patch?
    Community Answer
In the future, you may want to hold up the jeans to a light - unless it snagged on something sharp, most rips occur because that whole area is getting weak. Next time, put a larger patch that'll cover the hole and reinforce the surrounding area too.

You can use a patch from an old pair of jeans. Cut the needed sized piece and sew it on from the inside.
  • Question
What can I do if my jeans are ripped on the butt?
    Community Answer
Use Japanese patchwork (boro) and embroidery (sashiko) to make your patched jeans look stylish with an old technique that is in fashion again. I did it with a pair of ripped jeans and it looks artsy.
