Ultimately, you need to make different choices to balance out and change these repetitive situations.

    Expert Answer
Look for cases in your life where your karma might be imbalanced. For instance, holding a grudge against someone can create a negative karmic relationship between you two. Try transforming your negative feelings into something more loving and positive, which helps clear and balance that karma.
  • Question
Does Buddhism believe that the bad karma from a negative action grows over time if one does not apologize for it immediately?
    Community Answer
Karma is the result of our "intentional acts." As the cause of a negative action has already happened, if we no longer perform negative acts, it ceases to grow. If we cultivate virtue and practice compassion for ourselves and others, our bad karma, the result of our negative action, is transformed into merit.
  • Question
Can I help someone else have good karma?
    Community Answer
Possibly. You could convince them to do something good, or do something good with them. This could cause good karma. You could also help them fix mistakes.
  • Question
Can a couple with bad karma in the past work out?
    Community Answer
Yes. There's no reason why they couldn't; karma is based on what you do for others and how you treat them, so it's constantly changing.
  • Question
Can smoking crack give you bad or good karma?
    Community Answer

  • Question
How does one end what seems to be constant bad financial karma?

  • Question
Can karma really accumulate? I don't want all the bad things I've done to result in one huge amount of bad luck.

Yes, it can but it depends. If you want to reduce the impact of karma, just do good things and follow the Eight Fold Path.
  • Question
How quickly can you end bad karma and replace it with good? And can we pray to God to remove the bad karma if we have truly learned our lesson and are sorry?
    ダニエル
    Community Answer
Once you realize you have done something unwholesome, the best you can do is refrain from that behavior and continue developing wholesome behavior. Just as a bit of salt thrown in a river has little consequence, so does bad karma affect a righteous person. Just as the same amount of salt placed in a small cup of water makes the water salty, so does bad karma affect an unrighteous person.

    Dharini

  • Question
I have done a bad karma or bad action in past and now trying to amend but am not able to as the person doesn't let me go free and makes me get more into it with threats. Please suggest, should I quit?
    CageyCat
    Top Answerer
If you sincerely tried to make amends but your efforts are blocked, you do not need to keep trying, especially if the person makes threats. Instead, write a "never send" letter just for yourself. Don't send it and don't try to communicate anymore with the person. You can bury your letter, or if safe you could burn it (outside somewhere safe).
  • Question
I realised a mistake and got bad karma. Apologizing can be disastrous. What are other ways to overcome?
    Community Answer
Write an apology letter and tear it up so you will have apologized for the sake of your own mental peace. Either you can reverse the effects of your actions by doing something nicer or you can go along another area or path and do something equally good as needed. So, you feel like you have done something to overcome the ill feeling. One way to overcome guilt is by doing something good wherever possible, like helping, listening, giving food or items, donating for charity or anything that makes a good change.
  • Question
If someone is suffering from bad karma done in past life, how can it be resolved and how much time will it take? What will be the sign that he is relieved from old bad karma?
    Community Answer
If you want to resolve it, take responsibility for your actions if you can and do an equally impactful good or better in your present time. Only your actions can bring help to someone else and yourself. Time may depend on your mind, guilt and fears and how far you have gone to make things right today. Try to lead a good life as a whole instead of focusing on past life errors. Since you can get over the guilt and pain when you see a change in your life, starting from your thoughts and moving ahead in your actions.
  • Question
I cannot remember what was the situation or what I've done so badly to receive bad after bad karma during the last 10 years. Is there a way to change things even without knowing what we did so bad?
    Community Answer
You can do whatever is within your capacity to do what is your purpose of life. Think about a good purpose. Avoid judging others even when they have done wrong. Just be focused so nothing evil or tempting come and stays in your mind. Where there is a will, there is a way. So, make a resolve to not give up and be a positive person living optimistically.
  • Question
If I receive a present from someone and forget to thank them, then is that bad karma?
    Community Answer
It is a bad thing to forget but you can remedy it. Make an effort to thank them late rather than never. Try to thank people in your mind if they are away or if it's difficult. Give a gift of gratitude to a stranger or known person just so you have it off your chest. Next time, don't forget to thank others.
