QuestionHow do I calculate the lead?Community AnswerThe amount of lead will vary from station to station, but all of them require lead. Station 4 would require the longest lead ahead of the clay, and it's often stated as 3 to 4 feet. The best description I can manage is "a lot". Your first hit on Station 4 is often a surprise simply because of the amount of lead that shot requires. Once you've nailed one on 4, the game gets a lot easier if you recognize how far ahead you had to be to get that hit.

QuestionWhat size of shot should I use, 7 or 8?Community AnswerMany clubs have a limit on the maximum shot size. No.7 1/2 or 8, (or smaller) is typical.
