Then, ask them what kind of hesitations kids usually have when they skip grades, common problems they encounter, whether it will affect your college applications, etc.
  • Question
Does skipping grades requires straight As? I'm worried that if I have a D on an assignment I won't be able to do it, even though I still have a B in the class.
    Community Answer
While straight As in every class is not a requirement, it will definitely help back up your argument if you have all As. At the same time, a high B (85-89) is also good, as long as the majority of your grades are As. Everyone makes mistakes. As long as you corrected that mistake (figured out what went wrong with that assignment and fixed the problem), you should be fine.
  • Question
What if I have C in a class? Can you still skip?

Talk to your parents or even email your counselor (or leave a note). They can determine whether you're eligible to skip, talk with you about the steps for preparing to skip a grade, and walk you through the actual process.
