    Expert Answer
Personally, if you want to rock a pixie, I say go for it! Just make sure your stylist is shaping and showing you how to style it to compliment your face shape. Sometimes that means leaving the fringe area a little longer, or a bit more texture around the face. But at the end of the day, whatever makes you feel confident is what’s best.
  • Question
I really want to get a pixie cut, but I'm scared my classmates will make fun of me. Should I do it?
    Community Answer
If you want to get a pixie cut, go for it! Don't be afraid of your classmates. You should do what makes you happy and disregard what everyone else says.
  • Question
What is a good pixie style for a round face?
    Community Answer
One that is cut short on the sides or slicked back tight on the sides so you are not adding any width. The top needs to carry some height to make the face look more oblong and take away from the roundness of the face.
  • Question
How do you become confident with a pixie cut?
    Community Answer
Be confident in who you are. Learn to love the inside.
  • Question
My pixie is cut in layers, sometimes one of the random layer turns outwards, what do I do?
    Community Answer
You can either use a 1/2" straightener to 'curl' it downward then use hairspray to keep it still or you can gel it down. It really depends on what look you're trying to achieve. I have curly hair so I get that issue all the time with my pixie cut.
  • Question
Can I get a pixie cut if I have a cowlick?
    Community Answer
Of course! Sometimes a pixie cut can lead to more cowlicks, but when your hair is that short it either gets rid of them or you learn to style your hair with the cowlicks.
  • Question
I want a pixie cut but my mother doesn't approve. What can I do?
    Community Answer
Remember that your hairstyle is ultimately your decision and not your mother's. If she pays for your haircuts, try to persuade her by telling her that pixie cuts can be grown out easily. Perhaps you can compromise by getting a pixie cut that is more feminine, with longer bangs. If you cannot come to a compromise, save up money to pay for your haircut.
  • Question
My hair doesn't stay up long. I really wanted to do the spikes. Help?
    Community Answer
Use mousse or hair gel, or use hairspray to make sure it stays up. Don't wear things that might flatten your spikes - so no hats (unless it's winter) or big headphones.
  • Question
How do I get a fluffy look on my very short pixie?
    Elizabeth Levi Southam
    Community Answer
Usually just using a hair dryer will make it fluffy, if you don’t use any product.
  • Question
Should I iron my hair daily? I have African relaxed hair and it looses it's curls and shape quickly.
    GoldenFlame
    Community Answer
Adding too much heat to your hair can damage it. I recommend getting stronger get/hairspray.
  • Question
I have a short pixie cut, how can I braid it along the side?
    Community Answer
It will be difficult. You can try to gel some of it down into a natural-colored hair extension.
  • Question
I want to get a curly pixie cut, but I don't want to curl it everyday. Can I get it permanently curled?
    Community Answer
If you get a perm, it will always be curled. If you have any natural curl to your hair, you could also try shampoos or gels that are supposed to enhance curls.
  • Question
How can I style my pixie cut if I have a broad forehead?
    Community Answer
Go for styles with bangs, as they will hide your forehead and also look chic.
  • Question
Can I still get a pixie cut with thick and wavy hair? How do I know if it will look good on me?
    Community Answer
I had had the same question since I have that kind of hair, and it is doable! Just ask not to mess with it anymore after they cut it. After you get it cut, wash it twice in the shower. Cut every 2 weeks, and it will stay as a pixie cut.
  • Question
How do I find the right hairdresser for the right pixie cut?
    Community Answer
There are multiple ways. Look online for people who specialize in short haircuts, or ask friends with pixie cuts who they go to. Once you have good recommendations, take along a photo of "the right pixie cut" you want and ask if they're able to do it.
  • Question
How do I style my pixie cut that has a tapered neck?
    Community Answer
Curl or braid/twist the longer parts, then undo the braids/twists for a wave or defined curl.
  • Question
My hair is really curly. Will it become curlier?
    Community Answer
From what I have heard, it might become a little frizzier/curlier than it already is. However, there are plenty of hair products that can help tame the frizz, so there’s no need to worry.
  • Question
I want a Roman Holiday style cut but I have naturally curly hair and I don’t want bangs. Will it still look good on me?
    Community Answer
Be careful doing that, because you must have the right face shape for this style to work well. Go for it if your face shape is the same or similar as Audrey's.
  • Question
What if one of my friends says pixie cuts are ugly, but another friend supports my choice?
    Community Answer
Don't worry too much about what other people think. If you want to get a pixie, get it. It's just hair. If you later regret it, it will grow back.
