Are you trying to reset your Nespresso Vertuo? Whether it's because your coffee isn't brewing right or you're trying to fix a network connectivity issue, there's plenty of reasons to want to reset your Vertuo—and there's plenty of Vertuo models to pick from, too. In this article we'll go over the steps to reset all of Nespresso's current Vertuo models.
Resetting Nespresso Virtuo
- Plug in your Vertuo coffee maker.
- Close the machine head and leave the handle in the "unlocked" position.
- Push the coffee button five times within three seconds.
- Wait for the button to blink orange five times, then turn a steady white.

Push the lever on the front of the machine down for 3 seconds. This will power your VertuoPlus machine down.

Push the coffee button and the lever down at the same time for three seconds. After three seconds, you will see a steady orange light. This light signifies that your coffee machine has entered the special functions menu.

Press the lever down three times to select a factory reset. If you let the machine idle the special functions menu, the light will blink three times every two seconds to let you know that you're still in special functions mode.
- If you don't choose a special function within two minutes, the machine will exit special functions mode.

Open the machine head. If there is a used pod inside, let it be ejected when you open the machine head.

Close the machine head. Leave the lever on the top of the machine in the unlocked position.

Plug in your machine and disconnect all accessories before turning it on. Remove the milk carafe and descaling pipe from your Lattissima before attempting a factory reset.

Press and hold the hot foam button until the descale and rinse alerts start blinking. Doing this will put your coffee machine in menu mode.
- If you don't make a selection within 15 seconds, your machine will exit menu mode.
