  • Question
Do I only carve in one direction? Toward me?
    Community Answer
Carve away from you, and make sure you don't drill into the table you are drilling on. This works best with a clamp.
  • Question
Can I carve wood so it won't be attached to the piece of wood I'm working on?
    Community Answer
Yes. Adhere the carving to an under-wood with a temporary adhesive. Hot beeswax might do, as you can heat the entire piece and the beeswax will melt. I use ordinary paraffin or candle wax.
  • Question
How thick of a piece of wood is recommended for doing relief-type carvings with a dremel and flexshaft?
    Tony
    Community Answer
About 1- 1 1/2 inch if doing relief carvings on pine, and about 2 inches on basswood. If you're doing it on butternut, then about 1/2 inch
  • Question
I am left handed. How can I make it better for me as the tips rotate in the other direction, made by and for right handed people?
    Tony
    Community Answer
You can have it custom made for you but that's expensive. Another option is to reverse the motor, be sure that the dremel tool is unplugged, and you have safety gear.
  • Question
    Must you use sandpaper?
    Tony
    Community Answer
You do not have to use sandpaper unless you want to make it clean and smooth.
  • Question

  • Question
When it comes to the Dremel spin direction, how do you reverse it?
    Donagan

Dremels are not designed to be reversed. There is a way to do it (reversing the motor), but it's not simple. You may find some videos on YouTube by searching for "reverse Dremel motor."
