QuestionWhat about The Truck?Community AnswerThe truck is just a myth. This is the easiest way to catch Mew and the earliest point it is possible to do so.
-
QuestionDo I have to beat the slow poke trainer? I was wondering if you could lose so you can battle him again for the Mew in lavender town?Community AnswerIn Pokemon Red or Blue it is actually possible to get two mews, one from battling the slow poke trainer and one from battling the first trainer in Misty's gym, however it's not possible in Yellow since Abra is found in a different area than Red/Blue. So yes, you have to defeat the slow poke trainer.
-
QuestionDoes this alter the game later?Community AnswerThe answer is yes and no. Mew works just like any other Pokemon, so in that sense, no. However, he can learn any TM move, like Mewtwo. So he is extremely diverse in his fighting ability. Also, if you catch all other legendary Pokemon (Zapdos, Articuno, Moltres, Mewtwo), you will have the ability to fill the Pokedex to 151, which is a very neat Easter egg!
-
QuestionCan you do this without going to Lavender Town? Or do you have to catch an Abra on a different route? If so, which route can I find an Abra on?Community AnswerYou can catch an Abra in the grass above the Day Care. It is located under the town with the bridge.

QuestionWhat if I have already battled the slowpoke trainer?Community AnswerIf you have already battled the slowpoke trainer, then you will not be able to get him.
-
QuestionCan you get it at the end of the game?Community AnswerYou can only get it with the glitch now, as Mew was an event-only Pokemon that was given out at the time the games were new.
-
QuestionDoes this work on a PC?Community AnswerYes, this should work on a PC.
-
QuestionWill I be able to retry if I fail?Juliet FayeCommunity AnswerHonestly, with rare Pokemon like this, I would save my game before engaging battle, that way if I failed, I could turn off my console and try again. I would think that if you failed to catch it, if it ran away or likewise, you would have another encounter like most of the legendary Pokemon but I would save first anyway.
-
QuestionIs it possible to get a Mew that can be sent to Pokemon Bank?Community AnswerYes, since Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow are now supported with Poké Transporter, an application you get with the purchase of Pokémon Bank.
-
QuestionCan I beat Misty while doing this?Community AnswerOf course. You can beat Misty without doing this. I guess teaching Mew a lot of your good TMs will help.

QuestionDoes this work on an emulator?Community AnswerYes, it will work on an emulator.
-
QuestionI noticed that other than teleworking with Abra, escape rope is another option, but I am not sure if it works. Does it?Juliet FayeCommunity AnswerEscape ropes can be used to get out of dungeons, caves, etc.,much like the feature with Abra.
-
QuestionCan I do it earlier on in the game?Community AnswerNo, the first time you encounter an Abra is after you battle the gym leader.
-
QuestionCan I heal my Pokemon after each battle on Nugget Bridge, or will that interfere with the glitch?Community AnswerNo, it won't interfere. The glitch hasn't started at this point and you're just playing the game like normal. Just don't battle the Slowpoke trainer yet.
-
QuestionDoes the glitch work on emulators?Community AnswerIn my experience, yes.
-
QuestionCan Mew be caught after defeating Misty, in terms of coming back and doing the glitch at a later point in the game?Julian Tatum StringhamCommunity AnswerYes, but only if you manage to avoid the slowpoke person. He will be the first or second youngster you will see. This glitch can be redone if saved before attempting it.

-
QuestionDoes this work on a Game Boy Color?Community AnswerYes, this should work on a Game Boy Color.
-
QuestionIf I have already beaten the guy hiding in the grass, is the glitch still doable?Community AnswerYes, but you must use another trainer that fits the same criteria; you must not have battled them, and they must be out of your range before you walk up to them and press start.
-
QuestionWhat if I already beat the trainer?SprigPlantar7777Community AnswerSorry, but you'll need to restart your game in order to be able to fight him again.
