First off, make bangs. Lightly conceal the eye, but make sure it's not too bold. Draw light hair strands, if you'd like, to give it a "shaggy but sharp" appearance. Make sure to never make just one slab of hair overlap one whole eye. That will make the hairstyle look too bold and too sloppy. Remember to gently cover the eye, but it looks nice to have a portion of the eye showing as well. If you don't want the character to have bangs, make a lock of hair slip gracefully sideways and gently conceal the eye.
